The 6th edition of the International Bicycle Trade Show “Velo Park 2010” successfully took place 19-22 February 2010 in Moscow. At 7000 m2 of the CSK football arena more than 40 companies from Russia, Belarus, China and Taiwan, including manufacturers and distributors of bikes, cycling equipment, parts, outfit and accessories, demonstrated their novelties of the season. The visitors had a chance not only to see but also to test the new models the at the special test drive area. “Velo Park” is an only business platform for both leaders and newcomers of the cycling market that offers an opportunity to discuss the industry trends and to sign long term cooperation contracts. The visitors’ geography has been significantly extended in 2010. In spite of economic instability that negatively affected almost all cycling industry, and correspondently the exhibitors’ number, the organizers managed to organize the business exhibition and the bright and interesting programme of co-located events. “Velo Park Cup 2010” bike trial competitions took place during 3 exhibition days under the support of the Russian Cycling Federation and the Federation of Extreme Sports. 170 sportsmen from the whole Russia were registered for the competitions. This year the general partner of the “Velo Park Cup” was the Moscow school of bike trial “x3m-master”. The visitors enjoyed the spectacular competitions of young sportsmen who fought for the Cup in the following categories: “Juniors”, “Young Sportsmen”, “Elite”. This year the geography of the participants has been extended - among the winners there were the sportsmen from Moscow, Yaroslavl, Zelenodolsk, Samara. “Velo Park 2010” also hosted the “Trial Oskar” annual contest of bike trial video. This year for the first time “Velo Park” represented the unicycles; and R.A.S.T.A. BIKE Club held in the framework of the exhibition the Winter Bike Constructors Cup. This year 80% of the bikes came from the regions, and next year we expect international participants to take part in the competitions. The visitors voted for the models they liked in four nominations: custom (homemade frame), tuning (ground effects of factory frame); aerography (frame coloring); and the audience choice award. “Bicycle Trust Club” from St. Petersburg won the majority of votes. Over the three exhibition days the participants and guests had an opportunity to estimate the exhibited products: bikes, parts and accessories. We are glad to note that “Velo Park 2010” became a traditional beginning of the new active season 2010 that brought together all cycling fans.
